These are six day hunts and because the time of year can be an endurance test. January, February and March are good. We do some calling, baiting and the use of decoys can also be effective. Nothing can make the hair stand up on the back of your neck like an answer to a call on a cold, calm, mid-winter evening on a frozen lake in Ontario and knowing you're in the right place.
The timber wolf can cover a lot of ground in 24 hours. This also can be a challenge this time of year. The Ontario regulations for wolves have changed in the past year so be sure to call for the price of the hunt and license info.

Things to know
You will need to register your guns when crossing the border, this is a $22.00 fee (no hand guns). If you have a DUI or any other criminal charges, please check with Canadian Customs about this befor your arrival, as they do background checks. But if the offence is old enough there usually is no problem.
You will need a hunting licence from your home state to purchase an Ontario hunting licence, ($150 - 175.00). You are required to wear blaze orange when hunting in Ontario, a vest and hat will do fine. A soft gun case is a lot easier to transport into the bush than hard gun cases. Also deposits are non-refundable, unless you can find someone to take your place.
